These include La Coruna, Oleiros and Carballo to the north, Vilagarcia De Aroua, Pontevedra and Vigo to the south, and the charming town of Lugo to the east, together with Outerio and O Pedrouzo, both of which are close to Santiago Airport (SCQ).

Santiago de Compostela is a small and historic city, with a population of around 80,000. The centre of the old town area is particularly compact and surrounds the 18th-century Catedral del Apóstol. Much of this area is well pedestrianised and contains the majority of the city's main monuments, shops, hotels and restaurants.
A modern shopping centre can be found on the southern side of Santiago de Compostela, bounded by the Praza de Galicia. Santiago's train station lies just a short walk from the city centre, to the north-east, with the bus station being located nearby. The city's tourist information office can be found along the Rúa do Vilar, alongside the regional center.
